Whole life spirituality is about getting to know Jesus more in more areas of our lives.  That's

• not knowing about

• not following rules

• not occasional encounters with lonely spells in between

It is getting acquainted and being aware--living in his presence.

It's experiencing having a loving parent.

Put in that way it seems obvious.

But for most of us, most of the time, our experience of God's closeness is more like shaking hands with a stranger in a chance encounter rather than a lifetime of getting to know.

How does that happen when one of the biggest contributions of charismatic spirituality to Christianity worldwide is an emphasis on being aware of the presence of God rather than believing a theory?
