Christmas Hampers

Hampers18 years ago Dayspring approached Family and Children Services wanting to help in some way at Christmas. We were surprised to be asked for food hampers.  Every year since then we have delivered between 10 and 20 boxes and more recently bags for life filled with food; from cupboard essentials to festive treats.  These have have been passed onto those in need over the Christmas period.
It is great fun to take a cardboard box cover it in Christmas wrapping paper and then buy the food to fill it.  Taking Isaiah 58 v 6-7 as our inspiration we see this as fasting...
Is this not the kind of fasting I have choosen: to loose the chains of injustice?  Is it not to share your food with the hungry?

Delhi School

For the last three years Dayspring has supported a school in Gautampuri, New Delhi.  Run by a local church the school gives 100 child living this slum an education and one good meal a day.  For £20 one child is feed and taught for six months, transforming their lives and the lives of their families. The video below was taken when Dave visited the school.
